Senior Profile: Everlinda Kusi
Can you share some details on your plans for after graduation? What are you most looking forward to with these plans?
I’ll be going to northeastern, majoring in Nursing, through the global scholars program. I will be going to London for my first semester of my first year, and Oakland, California for my second semester, to conclude my first year. The rest of the three will be on the Boston campus. I’m looking forward to making great connections, as I travel, that could be an advantage when applying for jobs within my career. My goal after all my schooling is to work in pediatrics.
Do you have any memorable moments from your time at South High?
I remember when I went to school, in the old building, a day before it got knocked down. It the last class of the day and I was the only in Spanish class. Ms. DeHaan let me paint and draw all over her classroom till the bell ring to get dismissed. That was my most memorable moment at South High.
Is there anything specific about the old South building that you will remember?
I will remember the really small cafeteria.
Do you have any advice you would share with rising seniors or with underclassmen?
Don’t procrastinate. It will catch up with you. Also don’t compare yourself to others. It’s easy to compare yourself to someone who’s going to a more “prestigious” school than you. At the end of the day, education is universal.
