Senior Profile: Gifty Siayor

Can you share some details on your plans for after graduation? What are you most looking forward to with these plans?

I will be attending UMass Amherst in the fall. I’m planning to major in Legal Studies with a minor in Psychology. 

Do you have any memorable moments from your time at South High?  

Dressing up in a smiley face costume to go great the elementary school kids before they stated school. That was pretty cool. 

Is there anything specific about the old South building that you will remember? 

I really liked that they made smoothies in the morning. I feel like those gave me a large amount of dopamine. 

What is something that you have learned or experienced at South High that you will take with you after graduation? 

South taught me a lot about how valuable great friendships are for you mental wellbeing. Have good people in your corner just makes you want to be better. 

Do you have any advice you would share with rising seniors or with underclassmen?

Make the dumb mistakes now so you don’t make them later, but also understand that at some point you have to learn from them in order to grow.
