Senior Profile: Nayalis de la Torre
Can you share some details on your plans for after graduation? What are you most looking forward to with these plans?
After graduation, my plans are to attend UMass Amherst to major in Biology. I’m looking forward to the experience of the college student life.
Do you have any memorable moments from your time at South High?
The most memorable moment I can say I had at South High would have to be half way through my Junior year when I met Carisa Hochkeppel and all the laughs we had at the lunch table.
Is there anything specific about the old South building that you will remember?
Oddly I’ll always remember Mr. Caforio’s History class, and that one tile that was broken but in a way made the room complete. It really gave the room a history look, History class wouldn’t really be a favorite class of mine but walking into that room felt different in a good way.
What is something that you have learned or experienced at South High that you will take with you after graduation?
Something I learned at South High would be the fact that if you leave a positive mark throughout the years teachers will remember you and your kindness.
Do you have any advice you would share with rising seniors or with underclassmen?
To the rising seniors, don’t give up, even when you feel like you can’t do it anymore or you feel as though if you keep going you’ll just collapse mentally, Believe me when I say you got it every step of the way. I believe in you and having just one person believe in you can get you far trust me.
To underclassmen, it goes by fast trust me. Don’t waste it on watching and repost fights and other unnecessary.
