Welcome back, Chronicle readers!
I am so excited to be advising the newspaper club again this year! I am happy to introduce Jugeiry Perez as our new Editor. Jugeiry comes to us with two years of experience on the Chronicle staff and a valuable summer journalism internship with the New England High School Journalism Collaborative. She will be joined on the staff by Vasiana Mancolli and several regular contributors.
Under Jugeiry’s guidance, we will be publishing new articles weekly and will still be emailing out information on new issues. Look for content on South High students news, spotlights, arts and entertainment, opinion and sports. This year we have made submitting even easier – look around the school for flyers with QR codes to submit pieces on specific subjects. Or, if you create a great piece of writing in a class, consider submitting through our general submission form. A common misconception that we often run into is the idea that writing articles is the only way to be involved with the paper. But there are opportunities for photography, interviewing, promotion, and more.
After many of our staff graduated last year, we will be looking to build our newspaper staff this year – please visit us during the club fair for information on positions available. We also welcome contributors who would like to submit articles of their choice at any time!
The Chronicle hopes will continue to be a source of news and community connection for South High. We hope you will take the opportunity to have your voice heard by publishing, and will also take the time to read articles by your classmates. In the world we live in today, there is nothing so important as being informed and being involved, and the Chronicle is proud to be this source for South High.
Here’s to a another newsworthy 2024-2025 school year! Ms. Ledoux 🙂
