Hello, Colonels! I’m so happy to be with the Colonel Chronicle for another school year! We have some new things we are bringing this year that I’d like to share.
First off, I’m extremely proud to announce that I will be the Chronicle’s editor for the 2025-2026 school year! Being the editor means I will not be publishing my own articles as often and taking more of a backseat role, reviewing to-be published pieces and making sure everything is kept up to date and organized! I will still be publishing my own writing, but since I am a senior I have many other responsibilities, so this is to make sure that I am balancing everything and not getting overwhelmed.
The chronicle will be introducing a new feature: comic strips! There’s many artists at South High so we wanted to introduce (It’s also an easier way for me to keep contributing to the paper). Personally, I will be trying to make one comic strip per week, sometimes short, sometimes long.
That being said, if you are interested in submitting your own comic strip, or if you are interested in creating art for the chronicle, you can send us a submission.
Speaking of forms, the Chronicle will be making a change to our submission form. Instead of just one, we will have multiple! There will still be a main submission form, as well as a submission form for the Pets of South High, along with three new ones: Promotion, Arts and Entertainment, and Sports. The Promotion form is for anyone who has a business or craft that they’d like to promote—simply fill out the questions and we will create a profile about you! The Arts and Entertainment form is a submission form solely for articles (and artwork!) that fall under that category. For the Sports one, if you are an athlete and want to discuss a game your team just played, or you want to submit an article for the Sports section, you can use the sports submission form to do so! These forms were created to organize our submissions and give our readers more options on what they want to send.
There are many new positions open on the staff team. We’re looking for writers, graphic designers, editors, photographers, reviewers, and more! If you want to get involved, but don’t want to be a staff member, that’s okay, too! The Chronicle is always open for new people coming aboard. If you want to join, or have any questions, send Ms. Ledoux an email or come see our stand at the upcoming Club Fair on October 10th! I will be there to answer any questions.
