Nehemiah Zoller: Failure to Thrive

Nehemiah Zoller: Failure to Thrive

Nehemiah Zoller, Arts and Entertainment Editor May 8, 2025

I was a very small child. Friends in my grade school classes would often laugh about it, the fact I was short enough to be their kid brother, and they’d call me names like “little guy” or “small...

Lila Tallagnon: Taking a Swing at Something New

Lila Tallagnon: Taking a Swing at Something New

Lila Tallagnon, Editor-in-Chief May 8, 2025

All my life, I have been completely uninterested in sports. While all my friends flourished in youth leagues and charged soccer balls head first in gym class, I sat out. If you had asked me why I shied...

Sarah Jeffers: I Can Go With the Flow

Sarah Jeffers: I Can Go With the Flow

Sarah Jeffers, Editor-in-Chief April 29, 2025

First days of school. Dance competitions. Major surgery. Very different situations, but they all have something in common: they all come with unknown outcomes that can cause stress in one’s life. Anyone...

Ms. Farrell's dog Tupper! Tupper is a 10 month old English Labrador. He is named after Tupper Lake, a beautiful lake in the Adirondack mountains and an important place to Ms. Farrell's family. Tupper's favorite activities include chasing squirrels in the yard, chewing on antlers, and harassing Ms. Farrell's chickens through the coop fence.

Lila’s cat Piper! Piper is a twelve year old long-haired calico. She can be quite shy around strangers, but is sweet and clingy around family. She enjoys lounging around the house in her favorite spots: the hallway rug (marked by clumps of her beautiful, but perpetually shedding, hair) or my parents’ bed. Lucas can be a bit too wild for her—his attempts to play are usually met with hissing and growling. But, as the senior of the house, Piper assumes her role as his protector. She doesn’t go out much, but when Lucas does, she can often be seen watching from the porch steps, ready to intervene if he gets into trouble.

Sarah’s dog Max! Max is an almost two year old (not so) mini bernedoodle and is just a big goofball. He loves to play tricks with his family and pretend he needs to use the bathroom, but in fact, it is just so he can sit in the yard and chew on a toy. He also loves to steal and eat anything he can get his paws on. Tacos, paper towels, hearing aids, you name it, he has probably eaten it (and is fine). One thing Max doesn’t like is cameras. He hates getting pictures taken, and usually barks and growls when the phone comes out. Although he has some strange characteristics, Max is the sweetest puppy ever.
