South High’s Ice Cream Suggestions!

South+Highs+Ice+Cream+Suggestions%21

Happy Summer! Many people have favorite summer traditions, and one of mine is getting ice cream! There is something satisfying about having a cold treat after a hot summer day, and I was wondering what places people recommended. Recently, I asked a question on Instagram asking what people’s favorite local ice cream shops are, and we got many answers! Unfortunately, I was not able to get to every one on the list, but I listed all of them at the end!

Meola’s Wayside Ice Cream – 165 W Boylston St, West Boylston, MA, 01583

This was a highly recommended shop, and for great reason! Whether it came to the seating, sizing, and the actual ice cream itself, it was all great quality. Although it was a weekend, the lines were pretty short, and the service was pretty quick! I got the flavor Cake Batter, and it was very tasty! It was a bright yellow color, and it had small pieces of cake inside. Some other places I have been to make a cake batter flavor closer to a vanilla ice cream, but this one actually tasted like cake batter. The sizing was great, although the medium and small looked similar when looking at them next to each other. One thing I really liked about Meola’s was that they put the ice cream in styrofoam bowls, which insulated the ice cream and kept it frozen for longer. I noticed that when I was close to the bottom of my bowl that the ice cream was just then melting. The seating was also very good, there were lots of open tables and spaces to enjoy your ice cream. Overall, I give this place a 9/10, and I am looking forward to going back!
