In 10th grade Lila wrote a poem so beautiful I encouraged her to submit it to a writing contest. Lila’s attentive writing comes out in her journalistic writing, and her careful eye for clarity has helped the newspaper keep up its professional sheen all year. As co-Editor of the paper, Lila worked with Sarah to lead the paper with professionalism and with care.
Lila’s articles focused on highlighting the strengths of South High – our clubs, our events, our teachers and students. She had the heartbeat of South at the ready in her writing and publishing, developing full articles or even just helping with final edits to make our school shine. As co-Editor, she kept the Chronicle’s schedule running smoothly. Drafting emails, linking articles, making sure all articles have the required elements – Lila’s editorial role helped round out the successful production of the newspaper each week.
Her commitment to the paper came alongside a busy senior year, yet Lila, a two season athlete, found time amongst her soccer games and tennis matches to help the paper run and contribute to articles on the community. Lila will be missed and we at the Chronicle wish her the best!
