As a senior in high school since freshman year, everyone has told her to enjoy it because it will pass by in the blink of an eye. At first, she didn’t believe them at all; she thought these next four years of high school would feel like forever, but she was wrong, and they were right. She felt like she was still a freshman, but in reality, she’s a senior graduating high school in two months. “The memories made in these hallways will never fade,” she says as she roams the halls a couple more times.
The reminder of a certain memory in a door frame, the lockers, the cafeteria tables, the classrooms, etc., they all have one thing in common. Every student in that high school has a special memory in different sections of the school. No matter the bad days or rough ones, the good days will always make an appearance and give you a reminder to embrace the moment because it will be gone in a flash. She recommends joining as many clubs as you can, being social, making friends, and creating new memories with everyone you can. It will mean the world to you afterward having good memories in high school. She also says to make sure you don’t slack off in school. She said “Sophomore and junior year especially, try your hardest.” She suggests that if you take an AP class you should stay on top of your work every day so you don’t fall so behind in the class/work.
After asking her for advice for the upcoming freshmen, we also asked her advice for upcoming seniors, and she said, “I think you guys should enjoy every second of every day because this is the year that feels the easiest and fastest.” Join the international show, she said, get yourself out there one last time for your last year in high school before becoming a young adult. Becoming a young adult already is pretty stressful and everyone is stressed about different things and in different ways, but it’s all about the same thing: “becoming a young adult.” You have so little time being a kid; enjoy it as much as you can because as soon as you’re in high school the next day you’re already entering your adult era. Beginning to pay bills, starting to drive, plus having a car and going to college or trade is all you’ll think about throughout your senior year.
But don’t stress all the time. Have fun, enjoy your time. Enjoy every memory with your friends. As she gets ready to graduate, she thinks about how she got here. The hallways that used to feel long now seem like a known path with each turn having a story. She recalls the laughs in the cafeteria, joking around with friends in the halls, and the fun of school events. These moments even though short have made her who she is now. She tells future students to enjoy every experience try new things and face challenges. High school is a special time that gets you ready for adult adventures and responsibilities. As she leaves she takes with her the lessons learned and the friends made, knowing these memories will last forever.
