On November 5th, there will be the elections for the new President of the United States of America and the debate that took place on Tuesday September 10th, can maybe help you to understand which side to stand. Even if you can’t vote, it’s important that you know what’s going on in your country, it’s important to be aware of what kind of person rules you.
Last night the republican candidate, former President Donald Trump and democratic candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris debated in Philadelphia, in the first presidential debate since Joe Biden dropped out of the race. Previously, the new polls weren’t showing a clear preference, but the challenge has been decisive in view of November 5th.
Harris, as her advisor said, focused on empathy and emotion to get votes. “The important thing is to be courageous, bring people closer together, so you change your life and evoke positive events with your voice”. This is the motto of Rohini Kosoglu, Harris’s advisor. Harris says she will focus on lifting up working and middle-class Americans, enabling them to join unions, retire with dignity, live without the fear of gun violence and obtain affordable health care.
On the other hand, President Trump’s team worked on different methods. “Keep it on the message, disciplined, without unnecessary or harmful ramblings. To the attack, yes, but on the political weaknesses of Kamala Harris, instead of personal insults, racists or misogynists.” That’s what his advisors said. Too bad it did not happen and now they probably have their hands in their hair, due to the faces made by their beloved and esteemed former President Trump.
As CNN says, “From the opening moments Tuesday night, when the Vice President strode over to Trump’s podium and all but forced him to shake her hand, she dictated the terms of their critical clash exactly eight weeks before Election Day.”
But even if she has overthrown the debate, the candidates who won the debate stage don’t always go to the White House.
