Welcome back to yet another feature of Pets of South, a series on the Colonel Chronicle that publishes the wonderful and adorable pets of students and staff to gush over! Read about this edition’s pets down below!:
Meet all six of Chef Hayes’s pet ducks: Mabel, Martha, Gwen, Gerty, Penny, and Pearl! They are Welsh Harlequin (white) Blue Runner, and Buff (orange) runner ducks, and they are all eight months old!
“They LOVE when it rains!” says Chef Hayes. “If it rains, they’ll spend the whole day in the mud and in their pond.” Additionally, Chef Hayes shares that “They are not the biggest fans of their furry dog siblings Eleanor and Charlotte as they like to bark at them and chase them into their house when it’s time for bed!”
Also, Mr. Garcia shares his lovely dog, Isabella! Mr. Garcia says that her breed is unknown; “Some have guessed part husky, part terrier, part collie, part shepherd…” Although this is the case, Mr. Garcia states that Isabella is “100% awesomeness!” Isabella’s favorite movie/TV show is The Dog Whisperer, and she goes on daily walks with Mr. Garcia, “in all kinds of weather.”
