This interview is about Daniel Florez’s life journey since becoming a freshman. I met him in 7th grade when I became a 7th grader and we have been close friends ever since then. When asked how inspired and committed he is to the grind of serving and praising the lord on a scale factor, he responded by saying, “ I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ in a molecular amount 10, he gives me the bravery and confidence that I need in order to face the world.” Next I asked him how the relationship between him and his girlfriend is going, to which he answered, “It’s been going amazing and we hoped to get married one day.” That made me proud because his past relationships were difficult so I was very happy hearing this.
Daniel’s daily routine looks something like this:
Wake up, pray, brush my teeth, shower, eat breakfast and relax until the bus arrives and I have to go.
Sounds like an easy and regular daily routine so I understand why he has free time. I had to dig deeper because these questions weren’t tickling his mind like how it was supposed to so I asked him that since he is a heavy follower of the lord; how does it contribute to his daily everyday life?
He thought for a couple seconds and said, “It helps me get through the day knowing that a greater power above my own is helping me and that whatever happens happens because at the end of the day, I tried and that’s all that matters.”
Now I know that Daniel loves food so I HAD to ask this question: If you were hungry and you had money for Chick-fil-A but a homeless kid asked for the money, would you give it up? Now I thought I had cornered him but I fell for the step back 3 point shot because he says, “No I would not give the starving, homeless, poor kid my Chick-fil-A money even though he needs it more than me.”
Even though Daniel has much to work on, how he mentions the stuff that keeps him moving like God and his girlfriend is important because it shows you to never give up no matter how hard the challenge is.
Thank you all for tuning in with me tonight, goodnight 🙂
