Looking for something to do after school? Want to find people who share your interests? Then mark your calendar, because the Club Fair will be taking place on October 6th! But what is the Club Fair?

The Club Fair is a wonderful opportunity for South High students to see all the amazing clubs South has to offer. To get more information, I asked Ms. Houlihan, South High’s assistant principal of GSA and ARTS.

Students will rotate through based on their location in the building and have about 20 minutes at the club fair.” Ms. Houlihan says. As for the clubs, they create posters promoting themselves and select student representatives to oversee their stand during the Club Fair.

But why join a club? There are many reasons to. Maybe you just want to experience and/or try something new. Maybe you want to make new friends through the activities you enjoy. Maybe you just want to join a club so you have a better chance of getting into that college you’ve been setting your eyes on. With South High’s creativity and diversity, there is bound to be a club you’ll want to join.

I believe that the club fair highlights two very important things about South High,” Ms. Houlihan says. “One, we have an incredibly diverse student body which is evident by the range of clubs that we offer and two, we are a very student driven building which is clear when you see our students running these clubs.”

The Club Fair is a great way to get to know what South has to offer and a wonderful opportunity to try something new or do something you enjoy! Even if nothing catches your eye, it is still a fun event and a nice break from class.

The event will be taking place in the cafeteria at 7:30-9:00 AM.

About the Contributor
Jugeiry Perez, Contributor
Hi everyone! My name is Jugeiry Perez and I'm currently a Sophomore at South. I take Journalism as a class and am a contributor to the Chronicle! I have always loved to read and write, and to have the opportunity to further explore my interests in it through journalism. I adore teaching others about important topics going on in our community and the Colonel Chronicle allows me to do that. I own a lazy little chihuahua named Audrey and she is my biggest supporter (other than my mom). I frequently attend the Apricot Journal workshops and try my best to stay connected to South through clubs and school events. I hope to pursue a career as an author in the future and I am very excited to contribute as much as I can to the school newspaper!
