As a Junior here at South High, I would say that this school year has started off really well. It felt really good to reunite with everyone at South High, and also get to see all the new changes brought this year to South High. It was fun to see which classmates I would get to be with in my classes, especially if I had them in other classes before. All of my new teachers this year have been pretty good and have something positive to be said, and we have also gotten along well with each other. It’s also been fun to see all the freshmen starting high school here this year and seeing them prepare for their journey through high school, as well as seeing the new teachers/staff and upperclassmen who started off this year. Even if I don’t interact with them as much, I always assure for them to have a memorable experience here, especially since I arrived here halfway through the 3rd quarter last school year. Most of my classes this year have been pretty good (Algebra II is kind of on thin ice in that regard though…) but I’ve still been enjoying them quite a bit, especially Journalism! (this paper honestly kind of says it all.). 

Even if I don’t have any of my teachers from last year this year, I always go ahead and salute them whenever I see them, as well as a few other teachers that I never had that I ended up getting along with. It’s been great seeing classmates and friends that I got to know last year, as well as getting to know and interacting with faces I hadn’t interacted with before. In these two weeks alone, there have also been a ton of fun school events that have either already happened (like the sports games) or are being anticipated (homecoming dance, pep rally, etc..). There have been various new rules implemented at South that I’ll admit, are a little annoying to hear about, but in no way have hindered or messed with the experience here at South High. Alongside all the classmates and teachers/staff, of course I have to mention Honey! Honey continues to be the lovable and very helpful therapy dog bringing light to this school.

In conclusion, this school year has started off very well and is definitely set to be yet another fun and soon cherishable year for those experiencing it!
