Welcome back to the Pets of South High, a series on the Chronicle that highlights the pets of our Colonels! Below you can read about this issue’s fuzzy friends:

Meet Nilmary Crus’s pet cat Pinocchio! Pinocchio is a Maine coon, a breed known for its excessive fluffiness and gentle personality. There are many different kinds of coat colors for the maine coon, around 8 pattern types, to be exact. Crus’ maine coon is a common red and white tabby. Crus also shares a tidbit on Pinocchio, stating that “He’s very playful and he likes to eat a lot.”
Next, we have Ms. Ledoux’s puppy, Nori!
“We adopted her from a rescue league,” Ledoux shares. “She was found alone so the rescue league had no idea what kind of dog she is – she is a total mystery! Her fur and size are unique and baffle a lot of people.” Ledoux also says that Nori is 5 months old, and “enjoys snuggling, bothering her older sister Willow, and sneaking away with socks whenever she can.”
Finally, we have Ms. Torquists two cats, Arthur (left) and D.W (right).

“I adopted my cats from Broken Tails Rescue here in Worcester.” Tornquist says. Arthur, the short-haired cat, is a “silly boy who loves carrying around his squirrel and duck toy.” Additionally, Tornquist says that Arthur is “incredibly loyal,” and “follows me around the house.” Then we have the long-haired cat D.W, which is an abbreviation for Dora Winifred, “or as I call her, Winnie,” is said to be a “sassy girl,” whose favorite activity is “knocking things off the counter when she wants attention.”
Despite this, Tornquist says”She is the sweetest, softest baby!” She follows this with some facts about her two cats: “Their favorite snacks are freeze dried minnows and they can’t resist a good round of catnip as well. The best spot to sleep? They recommend a soft blanket, in the living room chair, curled up in the sun.”
