Pokemon is a great anime and a great way to spend time with others, collect and trade. But I’m getting ahead of myself; here are five reasons why you should consider watching and playing Pokemon!

What is Pokemon? 

A game where you are a trainer, who wants to be the best of them all, and wanting to discover brand new creatures they have never seen before! You will have to battle, to train, and grow your bonding skills! But, of course, there is someone trying to stop you: your rival! Every game has a rival, who is trying to be the best before you. And there is another person, or group, who is trying to stop you, too—or it’s more like wasting time. Like Team Rocket, stealing everyone’s Pokemon then selling them away. Or Team Galactic, summoning the evil of the underworld. And Team Plasma, reincarnating a powerful Pokemon that will freeze every single part of humanity. But once you defeat all of that, you can finally go to battle the Elite Four: four powerful gym leaders who will challenge you to test your battle skills. Then you can challenge the champion! Most of the champions are your rival, other times, they’re some champions with extremely powerful Pokemon. So, what are you waiting for, young trainer? Go out and seek the unseekable!

Who made Pokemon?

The creator of Pokemon is Satoshi Tajiri. His childhood hobby was collecting different kinds of insects, like collecting Pokemon! But Pokemon wasn’t its first name or its brand. Satoshi’s first branded Pokemon was Pocket Monsters! Just like collecting, but other mysterious creatures! Discover something new and you “Gotta catch them all”—that’s their catchphrase!

Where Pokemon was born: 

Pokemon—or Pocket Masters—was originally made in Tokyo, Japan in 1996. The creator, Satoshi Tajiri, created the franchise Pokemon due to his childhood love of collecting different kinds of insects. Pokemon’s birth date was February 27th, and it’s almost their birthday! The Pokémon franchise quickly grew from the original video games into a massive media mix spanning trading cards, animated series, and movies, all in Japanese media productions!

When did Pokemon become popular? 

It began in 1996, when Pokemon decided to make their first movie, and people loved it. Pokemon fans also wanted to collect Pokemon in real life, So the Pokemon company made TCG, which is short for “Trading Card Game”, and again, people loved it. People could finally collect their favorite Pokemon, but in card style! Now, everyone opened up packs to find that one Pokemon card, instead of battling with them. Yes, you can battle with them. It’s just like in the games, in the anime, but with energy cards for your Pokemon to attack, flipping coins to prevent those attacks from opponents.

Why you should consider watching and playing Pokemon: 

I already answered that question! It’s an anime, and you can watch something new, with your family and friends. The episodes are also inspirational and they give off life lessons, while also entertaining the audience! And what I mean by collecting is the Trading Card Game (TCG). You can now collect, buy, and trade your Pokemon card collection to other people, just like in the game! The games are also entertaining too! They gave off strategies for you to think of.
